Young Scientist Award
DANISCO A/S, the partner of the conference Food and Function 2009, presented the “Young Scientist Award”.

be under the age of 35;
-
present their scientific contribution orally, i.e in regular session not as a poster, during the conference, not at the symposia;
-
select by the abstract submission that they wish their presentation to be considered for the award.

be characterized by a high scientific standard;

indicate the independence of the candidate in performing scientific research in nutriceuticals, functional foods and related areas;
-
bring forward new ideas, new concepts, applications or understanding of nutraceuticals and functional food.
The winner of 1000 € award was elected by the scientific committee at the conference.
“Young Scientist Award” - sponsored by the renown Danish food ingredients, enzymes and bio-based solutions producer Danisco - was presented to Ester Betoret, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain for her work on the COMBINING OF VACUUM IMPREGNATION AND HOT AIR DRYING TECHNIQUES TO OBTAIN PROBIOTIC FOOD FROM APPLE (VAR. GRANNY SMITH) WITH EFFECT AGAINST THE INFECTION CAUSED BY HELICOBACTER PYLORI.
